I’m afraid I get pickier and pickier every season that I go to Lingerie Fashion Week, Curve Expo and The Lingerie Collective, so it gets harder and harder to find new and exciting pieces to share with my readers. Choosing how to share all this information with you is also a challenge! This season, I’ve decided to point out brands that are new (to me– some of these brands are many years old!) and then break down highlights from some of my favorite full bust and core size/small bust brands over the next two weeks.
I hope I get to introduce you to some brands that you aren’t familiar with and you’re as excited about them as I am. Please let me know if there is anything else you want to know!
Given that I love the film ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ that this brand is clearly named after, it’s no surprise that I would be so excited about this new brand. The adorable fluffy collar on this set has made it onto my wishlist already (because what could be better for winter!) It’s only a six months old brand, but I see great things ahead already– I’m hoping I’ll get to share the whole look book with you all soon!
I had seen images of this brand before, but nothing prepared me for the delicate perfection of their designs. Based in Seattle, Salua has a ladylike but paired down aesthetic, emphasizing the deliciousness of their materials and the stylishness of precise and whimsical details. I am excited about both the current Spring/Summer collection and the coming Fall/Winter collection because of the absolutely impeccable details and the amazingly soft fabrics. I’m so glad I got to see these pieces in person because that made all the difference.
Millesia is actually a 20-year-old brand, but it’s only recently come to my attention at visiting their booth at CurveNY was the first time I got to see their pieces in person. I also found that the sneak peek at the new collection was so much more exciting that pieces I’d seen in the past that I think that this is a truly excellent new development for the brand. The colors and shapes of the new collection seem so much more modern and daring, I’m looking forward to seeing more of this brand!
Something Wicked is a fun brand with a very distinct point of view. I love the use of both leather and lace and the somewhat unexpected approach to traditional shapes. To me, is one of the brands that is easiest to see making it big here in NYC because the aesthetic could easily be paired with the streamlined all-black look with a touch of sex appeal that’s so popular here. The stand out pieces for me is the leather soft bra and the lace high-waisted thong, both easy to incorporate into a lingerie-centric, ‘bad girl’ wardrobe.
I only got the worst images of Velvette because I was rushing through when I saw them, but the designs in this collection are really sweet and very French. I was definitely more excited about what I saw at the show than the glimpses I had seen online before hand so I’m glad I went to see them. This is definitely a brand I’m going to keep my eye on for the next few seasons because I think there is so much more still to come!
