Lingerie Review: Arabel Lingerie Candyfloss Garter Belt and Knickers

I actually met Sarah, the designer of Arabel Lingerie, when I took the DMU short course in December, so I was so happy to see how cute her designs are– just the amount of girliness that’s right up my alley. I’m excited to see what she develops based on what we learned in her short course.

So, when she offered me the chance to try some of her designs, I was overjoyed. I chose the Candyfloss garter belt and knickers (as well as some matching pale pink stockings). Have I said how much I love the names? As someone with an unstoppable sweet tooth, I can’t help but be charmed by lingerie that understands that. Basically, this is exactly the lingerie I imagine a fairy princess would wear and I love it.

Although I tried on the whole set and twirled around in it a bit, I didn’t get a chance to test it out in the real world until Valentine’s Day. I know what you’re thinking: aren’t you NOT supposed to wear something you haven’t test run for a special occasion? And I have to confess that I ignored my own advice.

Wearing the garter belt for Valentine’s Day meant wearing it for a whole day at work, the true test of an undergarment. I am happy to report that the garter belt held up extremely well– even in the face of sprinting to catch my subway, all the clips stayed in place and the waist  only slipped down a little. This is high praise. I also love how adjustable the straps of the garter belt are– I’m able to attach the straps at a longer length and then tighten them for greater security, which is very handy. Oh, and in case you were interested, my girlfriend loved them.

The panties I’ve worn a couple times and they are both cute and extremely comfortable. One thing I always worry about with handmade knickers is that they will be able to stand up to a few wears and washes, but so far these are doing an admirable job. I love the sheer mesh back!

If I was going to buy another Arabel Lingerie garter belt (which I probably will) I will likely give her a slightly smaller waist measurement. Although I was cautious to make sure I didn’t order anything too tight, I think it might be better to ask for something about an inch smaller than your waist to allow for slightly more stretch. Although, if you’re only planning to wear it in the bedroom, that doesn’t really matter.

All in all, I am very, very happy with this set! I would definitely recommend the panties or the garter belt to anyone. I can’t wait for Sarah to come out with matching bras too!
