I may have gone a little wild with the alliteration in the title, but it’s summer! I’m excited! And I’m just recovering from my amazing trip in Japan. The first thing I need to talk about is bralettes and wireless bras for small busts as a companion to my soft bra compilation for full busts. A lot of the bras on this list are ones that I’ve tried and loved as a good way to stay cool and relaxed during the warmer months. Generally, I prefer this kind of bra for weekends, layering with a silky summer dress, rather than for extremely air-conditioned offices during the work week. Which is your favorite?
I have an Angela Friedman bralette that I absolutely love, but I think that this one is next on my ‘must have’ list. I think the longline shape is so gorgeous and definitely offers a little more shaping and support than the average unwired bra. The ice blue and white combination is perfect for bridal, but is also just a lovely summer color. Obviously, it is best when paired with the adorable knickers!
Topshop is always a solid choice for cute bralettes at a lower price point. I’m in love with this chartreuse color because it’s so unusual. I think this is a great piece to let the straps peek out, especially if paired with neutral colors.
VPL is a personal favorite of mine and I am in love with the color combination of this bra. This is a perfect piece for layering, especially the lovely sheer purple fabric. I think this looks like vanilla ice cream with plum compote– anyone with me?
Miss Crofton is one of my favorites when it comes to soft bras, especially because of the variation in her design. Soft bras and cute matching knickers are clearly her forte and something she sticks to, but she still manages to create new and adorable riffs on that theme. Take this bra— those sheer white daisies are so cute, they’re a perfect summer soft bra option.
Neon has had its place in the lingerie spotlight for a few seasons now, but I think that this bralette from Only Hearts has got to be one of my favorites. I like how the sheer mesh clearly highlights its clean lines and bold color.
Eberjey is the master of the beautiful, understated bralette, always coming back with winning combinations each season. I am especially a fan of this bralette for the cute pattern, which seems fun, summery and coincidentally goes perfectly with jean shorts.
Araks‘ bras are pricey, but use beautiful materials and color combinations which make them impossible to ignore. I would love to add this peach and lavender piece to my collection, especially because I would have never thought of pairing those colors, but they look gorgeous!
This set from ASOS is both adorable and extremely wallet friendly. The underbust frill might make it a slightly challenging layering piece, but it’s so cute I would hate to exclude for that reason alone. Plus, that pale blue color is one of my favorites!
The crossover detail in this this Toru and Naoko bra is really what sets it apart for me and what makes it especially gorgeous. Polka dots are always fun and the sheerness keeps this a cool, breezy style. Now I seem to be convincing myself to get one of these!
I am kind of obsessed with the lace on this Kiss me Deadly bralette, which is not only very pretty, but also has the word ‘virgin’ subtly woven through it. This bra is also a great piece for everyday because it offers a great shape and support under clothing, even without wires. Whether ‘virgin’ is hilariously ironic or extremely true, this is a great soft bra for your summer.
I’m fairly sure this bra is by Nais Lingerie and I love its distinctive color choices. Both the mustard and the gray color are outside of the usual lingerie colors in a way that makes them an interesting addition to any lingerie collection. I also like the triple strap detail in the back.
Do you like bralettes in the summer? Any favorites that I’ve forgotten?
