Last week was full of lingerie activities, biggest of all being the huge lingerie tradeshow, CurveNY. Visiting the show is extremely exhausting, but I love the chance to see amazing new pieces and show you a sneak peek. Please check out these awesome designs to get excited for in Spring/Summer of 2014! I’d love to hear which are your favorites.
Also, I’ll be making a full-bust focused post next so you ladies aren’t neglected!
The last few collections from Fleur of England have been absolutely stunning, and Spring/Summer 2014 is no exception. Fleur of England is a luxury brand with a high price point, but when you look at the astonishing workmanship, the quality of the lace and the charm of Fleur’s designs, it’s easy to feel justified in purchasing and wearing one of these works of art.
I can’t yet reveal the colors of the Spring/Summer collection, but there are some truly amazing pieces. I wanted to run off in the gorgeous robe I tried on and there were some delightful stripes that will be perfect for next spring. In the meantime, check out the magic that will be available this fall:
The one thing about Huit that always keeps me coming back is the impeccable taste with which the collections are designed. Even colors that I would otherwise avoid makes me love them because of the beauty of the combinations and subtlety of the shades. Of course, the sporty red and white striped set for next season is my absolute favorite, but the collection as a whole is going to be lovely.
I also need to give a shout out to Huit’s swimwear, because they blow me away with their designs every season. The stand outs for me are the white and army green bikinis because of their utter chicness.
I had no experience with Lilipiache previously, but I was so happy to see them because I always have a soft spot for New York City-based designers. They also had a new ‘aromatic’ fabric, which I thought sounded like a silly gimmick– until I actually went over to smell it and found that it seemed like a really light, delicate scent that would be excellent to lounge in. Personally, I would love to find out what it’s like on a more longterm basis.
The other thing I have to mention is the adorable swimwear. I had no idea they did swimwear, but now I want one of the stripey ones!
I was so excited to see ID Sarrieri just because the materials that they use are always stunningly beautiful. I was not disappointed! Seeing the amazingly delicate chemises and bodysuits from ID Sarrieri made me want them desperately, but I’m afraid there may be some budgetary reasons why that will never happen. In the meantime, I will have to content myself with being able to look at this beauty twice a year (and sharing it with you all).
I’ve already talked about how much I love Timpa, which is exactly why I wanted to meet with them to learn more about them. It turns out that Timpa was originally a Belgian company but was bought by their US distributor when they were having financial problems. Since then, they’ve kept producing their classic stretch lace bra (which I love) in a bunch of fun and daring different colors! I really love how smart this is– when you have something fantastic and works well, just keep doing it!
This season they are making a new style for the first time in 7 years (gasp!) but I’m really excited about it because it is a simple, sheer style that is nearly identical to their regular lace cup style, but totally seamless. I really think this could become a staple of my bra wardrobe, so I hope a lot of places stock it and I can get one.
Fortnight is one of those brands that is consistently excellent in their collections. They are really different from everyone else, which is always a good thing, and their wireless bras are some of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m loving the chevron print for next season in this pale blue color, so I’m very much looking forward to SS2014!
Oh, Mimi, you always make me so happy! I felt so happy to see the new Mimi Holliday collection because it’s always such a delightful, girly pile of happiness. There were no real surprises for me in this new collection, but I was just happy to see it all. I am definitely looking forward to next season Mimi Holliday, but it didn’t get me quite as excited as some of the other collections.
Next time: all my favorite full bust styles from CurveNY!
