The Lingerie Lesbian’s New Year’s Resolutions
I have never been one for New Year’s resolutions, simply because I don’t like the idea that I might not fulfill them! But I think this year is a perfect time to make them and share with you my lingerie resolutions for 2013.

Model: Immodesty Blaize. Corset: Sparklewren. Photo: Suzi Ovens.
1. Learn more about corsetry
This is really a multi-part resolution, as I want to learn more about the history of corsetry, as well as buy a corset and make my own. For someone who loves lingerie, my experience with corsets is woefully lacking and I want to make that my primary focus for 2013.

2. Handwash my lingerie every time
I have to confess to you that handwashing does not always happen, which is really just because I need to stop being so lazy. Now that I’ve resolved, I will do it! I hope. I also would like to try specialty lingerie wash and see if that actually makes a difference.
3. Experiment with leather or latex (or both)
Both leather and latex are interesting lingerie materials that are interesting and fun, but neither really make an appearance in my lingerie drawer, something I definitely would like to correct. (I am slightly obsessed with latex gloves and collars– they are so cool looking!)
4. Try more lingerie brands, especially independents
There are so many lingerie brands that I want to test out this year, but I especially want to focus on smaller, independent brands. Some that I have my eye on are Dottie’s Delights, Angela Friedman and Hopeless Lingerie (who I just made my first purchase from!), as well as La Lilouche, Ell & Cee and Bordelle.

5. Meet more lingerie bloggers/designers/LGBT bloggers
Some of the most fun I’ve had this year has been meeting other people who love talking about lingerie or sexuality as much as I do. It’s nice to talk to people who don’t mind spending an absurdly long time complaining about stuff that most people care nothing about!

6. Get more readers for the blog!
I just like attention, what can I say. But really, all of the readers and commenters on the blog have been so wonderful in the past 6 months, I just like hearing from all of you and I’d love to meet more of you in the new year.

7. Figure out what I’m doing with my life
But isn’t that every year’s resolution? Maybe this year it’ll all get magically sorted

Do any of you have resolutions for 2013? Especially lingerie-related ones?

Where is the last image from?
It’s by Jets swimwear, an australian swimwear company. I accidentally forgot the attribution, I’ll add that in now
Wow, I LOVE those latex gloves! I usually find latex a little BDSM for my lingerie style, but small accessories like those gloves would be a great way to work it in
I know, right? I love girly latex because it’s unexpected.
Love that darling pink and gold bra – any idea where that one is from? As for resolutions, I definitely want to find more bloggers too – and I’d love to organise a meetup for LGBT bloggers (and/or blog readers) at some point! If you’re looking for LGBT blogs, we have a list of some of our favourites on our blog, but it definitely needs to be updated!

A meetup sounds fun! I’ll check out the list on your blog. I have no idea where the gold and pink bra is from, unfortunately, I’d need a scan of the original editorial to get the sourcing (in Italian, naturally).
Loving your blog!
Thanks so much!
Try Forever New for organic detergent! It’s all I use anymore.
Thank you! Great tip– I’m always on the look out for good detergent.
I too am guilty of throwing my bras in with the laundry. Glad I am not the only one who is guilty of it.
Love your blog! My resolution is to try more adventurous lingerie, and find stuff that fits well. (More reviews would be greatly appreciated). For years I denied my enjoyment of lingerie, even to myself, feeling in a vague muddled way that it was unfeminist, frivolous, sexist, etc. Now I’m in my 40s and care less about idealogical purity and more about enjoying my sexuality. It is so good to see a blog like yours, an unashamed celebration of sensuality and beauty, keep up the good work x
Sound like some great resolutions to me! I’d love to do number 4 but sadly it conflicts with my resolution to stop buying excessive amounts of lingerie… Sigh! I also ALWAYS need more leather and latex though as I keep explaining to relevant parties, they don’t count as normal lingerie as they live in a different drawer!
Great resolutions here… LOVE that 6 of them revolve around lingerie! Atta’girl!
