It’s taken so long for me to write this Karolina Laskowska lingerie review because I’ve been waiting for the right moment to combine it with an outfit post– something I’ve never done before. And precisely because I’ve never done it before, it’s taken longer than I’d hoped. It’s been a lot harder than I thought to find the right way to do it and I realized it would be better to simply do a review now and do an outfit post in the new year (hopefully!). This bra looks a thousand times better actually on the body, but these photos will have to do for now.
This whole thought about an ‘outfit post’ brings me to the first thing that I absolutely love about my Karolina Laskowska bra: it looks absolutely perfect with almost anything I’ve worn on top of it. The central elastic halterneck with the gold colored ring and sliders acts like a kind of jewelry, but a little sexier and edgier, perfect to show off in a deep V-neck or scoop neck, from casual to dressy. I swear, every time I wear it, it bumps my outfit up from ‘decent’ to ‘awesome.’
I love the dark purple eyelash lace– I think the color and the lace itself are a little bit of an unexpected combination with the architectural straps, but I think that that makes it all the better. I’m always looking for pieces that combine traditionally feminine details, such as lace, with a modern, fashion-forward aesthetic. I also like how the cups are slightly sheer– if you’ve been reading my blog you know how much I love sheer lingerie, and this is the perfect level of sheer to show off the lace pattern, while not being too risqué.
I should also say that it’s technically only a sample (not up to retail standards), but honestly there isn’t a single construction flaw noticeable to the untrained eye and I find the fit a completely perfect 34B– I’m sure that it doesn’t hurt that it’s the lingerie sample size (something I’ve been learning all about this week!). If I were to give any feedback about fit, I think I would say that the center halter straps could be a wee bit longer (they fit me perfectly on their longest length, but someone else might need a little more leeway) and that I wish there was a better way to get the side straps to stay down better (which isn’t a comfort issue, but a fashion issue– they look so awesome, it’s not fair it sometimes get disguised by blending with the underband). The fact that the straps are all fully adjustable with the sliders in FRONT made me instantly so happy– with a lot of straps it can get a little fiddly to put them all to their perfect length and now I can adjust all of it while I’m actually wearing it. I really don’t understand why this isn’t standard, it’s so handy.
Karolina’s shop isn’t open right now (she’s still in school), but I’d definitely say to keep an eye out for her sample sales and her regular signs when she starts selling them again. I would heartily recommend her work, I’m over the moon about my bra (and it’s always nice to buy from someone who’s actually a sweet person!)
I’m so excited to share this bra with you again some time– what do you think of this design? Would you buy some Karolina Laskowska?
