Lingerie Review: Lascivious Ana Bra and Roxy Thong
The first thing I noticed when I received this bra from Lascivious was how tiny it looked. Now, I know I am far from well-endowed, but I did think that this was sure to be a tight squeeze– however, lo and behold, it fit! And, second surprise, it was extremely comfortable due to the beige stretch mesh. And the eyelash lace is just so pretty and delicate, while still being modern. This is definitely a bra I would want to wear on an everyday basis. I didn’t buy it with matching undies, which is a huge aberration for me– I think what would be perfect would be to get a plain back mesh set to mix and match with this bra and the gorgeous thong I also bought at the same time.
The fringe on this thong is absolutely perfect. It manages to tread the line between sophisticated and showgirl exactly, so that you can wear it under a sophisticated cocktail dress while still having the urge to shake your bum and feel the fringe flying. The design is unusual in that it has a hook in the front to get in and out of it. In my opinion, this is a bit of a design flaw, as it simply makes the thong seem less secure and the elastic would make it easy enough to get on and off. The hook held up fine when I wore it, so no complaints here. It’s really the perfect piece to secretly spice up an outfit– worn with a plain black or beige bra, the panties totally steal the show.
I’ve been increasingly seeing my lingerie purchases as a lingerie collection, with myself as collector and curator and my body as its exhibition space (think of this as the museum catalogue, perhaps). I know a lot of people just want to find the perfect lingerie brand and stick to it when it works, but as I’ve been exposed to more and more lingerie, my tastes get increasingly wide-ranging and eclectic. I’m not sure I have a specific lingerie style as yet, because I really have an appreciation of so many different ones. I’m so glad to add this sampling of Lascivious into my growing lingerie gallery– I’m afraid the storage space (i.e. my drawer) is becoming rather crowded though!
I know other people have had trouble with Lascivious sizing– what do you think of my new acquisitions? We they worth not getting the matching set?

I actually have the Ana set in both colourways – love the bra, the fit is great and it’s so comfy! Mixed feelings about the knickers though… I don’t think Lascivious have got their sizing quite right on garments that cover more of the body. I’ve found that their high-waisted knickers and bodies come up very small!
I heard the same thing– must have a very short torso-ed fit model! As a petite person (lengthways), I actually need stuff that isn’t too long/tall– I would like to try a body or the high-waisted panties at some point to see how they did on the shorties of the world.
Dear LL
” …myself as collector and curator and my body as its exhibition space….”
Beautiful sentiment, you have won my heart entirely, my defenses have crumbled, you and your blog are wonderful.
Have a lascivious weekend
Thank you so much! Your praise makes me blush. I will try to have as lascivious a weekend as possible
I love the idea of being a lingerie collector/curator/gallery space. As a grad student studying art history and museum studies, I have to admit that you tapped all my favorite geek buttons. And your new set is delightful–love the fringe.
Thank you! I actually have been thinking about that more and more– do you think you’d be interested if I wrote another post thinking more about the idea of curation? Also, I love art history so much– maybe a pairing of painting & lingerie set would be fun.
I’d recommend Nichole de Carle London for that. She has a print called “The Last Testament”; it’s no longer available in the main shop, but if you click “Bespoke” you will be directed to a custom order program that still lists the print. It’s a brand on my wishlist.
Ooh, great idea. Thanks for the tip! I really want to try Nichole de Carle.
That would be fabulous! Now I’m bubbling with excitement.
I LOVE Lascivious! Of all the higher brands, Lascivious is the one that most consistently speaks to my soul. It’s just so… Lascivious!

Mhm. Back when I could fit their bras I found them to be true to size. I admit, I still wear the bra I don’t fit in anymore for special occasions where it won’t be on for long. It’s just that good- it’s the Milla bra, in case you’re wondering- I love that thing; I also feel that due to its design you can wear it and look sexy despite also spilling out (and some would say the spilling out itself is sexy).

I never really “got” fringe details on underwear. My first thought was really, “What would you wear it under?” I suppose wide skirts and cocktail dresses, so that solves that. I’m glad you love it.

These are actually the things I wish I saw more of in thong (and non-thong) underwear. I find them sexy- the hook is there to add an extra sensual and sexual touch- much like crotchless panties. Your partner doesn’t just have the option of dragging, or clawing (or, er, delicately removing) your underwear off. Oh, no, s/he can also unhook you. That, and I suppose it both makes going to the bathroom easier, as well as avoiding getting the fringe caught on anything. The design of the hook and closure could be sexier (is that metal or plastic?)- I’ve seen some nice chain ones, but perhaps they hadn’t thought of another way to do that without it interfering with the design and budget.

Great analogy. While I don’t view my lingerie in quite the same way, I do find myself with increasing agency making clothing purchases based on whether or not they’ll match or suit the design of my lingerie, as opposed to the (admittedly more common and perhaps even more practical) opposite. It’s quite the tickling, glamouring transition.

I have this problem, too. I thought about getting a bigger dresser, honestly (decided not to!… So far… Nor did I decide to get an add-on addition to it). I’d have more room if I let go of the three boxes I collected when my underwear came in (but these boxes are so fancy, I tell you! Boudoir Wishes has great boxes- they’re like mini drawers). Beside that, I keep everything else in a satin lingerie soft carrier. http://www.juliannarae.com/accessories/bags.htm It’s almost full…. I may just move them to a suitable place in my closet instead of my dresser, hm.
“I know other people have had trouble with Lascivious sizing– what do you think of my new acquisitions? We they worth not getting the matching set?”
Not my choice, but I like ‘em, and I like your styling plans for them.
Like everyone has commented on, great analogy. You have a flair with words!
I’ve never paid too much attention to Lascivious, mostly because its not really my style. But on the topic of mixing and matching, I also have mixed feelings on that especially since I buy mostly during sales. Mixing and matching shatters the feeling of luxury, imo. It’s like eating one of those 100 Calorie pack Oreos. Just eat 1 real Oreo instead! But I still do it (mix & match that is) I suppose I just need to be more creative in order to enjoy the process.
Well, the solution to mix and match is really to wear only one piece or another– unlike some lingerie lovers, I think going commando or not wearing a bra can sometimes be the best solution
. Thank you so much!
